If you walk up to a bar and ask for a double Whiskey, you may get more or less depending on where you are and what laws are in effect. This page attempts to note where you are and how many millilitres are in a shot at your local pub/club.


United Kingdom

England

In a pub in England, the standard measure for spirits (A shot) is 25ml. This is also one standard Alcohol Unit.

  • Single shot: 25ml (1 unit).
  • Large shot: 35ml (1.4 units).
  • Dobule shot: 50ml (2 units).
