Alcohol
From TheAlcopedia
What is it?
If you're on this site, i'm guessing you know the answer to that question, but if not i'll humor you.
Realistically, Alcohol isn't just what is in drinks; it refers to a family of chemicals including Ethanol, Isopropanol, Methanol and others. The main focus of this article though is Ethanol, which is the type of alcohol which is produced by fermenting sugars. It is the alcohol which is contained in drinks.
CH3CH2OH is the chemical formula for Ethanol and thats as much as I know (or want to know) about the chemistry side of things.
Uses
Well appart from being used as an industrial solvent, alcohol is best (In my opinion) in drinks.
